Pegcity Steppers commenced on January 5, 2020 with a group of young professionals wanting to stay active and encourage each other during the long cold winter months. The group, which was founded by Shana Goodridge started out as a walking group with about 4-5 members of various fitness levels.
Our Mission is to encourage people who live a relatively sedentary lifestyle to lead a more healthy lifestyle and to encourage and promote the visibility of BIPOC runners/walkers in the running community here in Winnipeg.
Pegcity Steppers community or club is segmented into groups based on pace and ability.

There are so many scenic routes in our communities that we love to explore. Here are some of our favorite weekly routes.

We meet on Saturday mornings at 8 am in-front of travel Manitoba at the forks
Most Definitely, all paces are welcomed. We encourage you to run your own race and go at your pace. If you are walking, jogging, running all paces are welcomed. We also have a group of walkers, you can start there are work your way up to running.
Absolutely Not! Although one of our vision is to increase the visibility of more BIPOC runners and or walkers here in Winnipeg; the group is open to everyone. If you are looking to get started on your fitness journey and you are looking for a supportive group of people to join; we are here to encourage you to keep it moving.
We have groups that run/walk both 3km and 5km around various communities in the city.
